"When I Play, She Comes"
I don't know what it was about that piano that drew her, but every time I played it, she would come. Mostly she just stood near, watching with a sad sort of smile. But sometimes, if I played a song she knew, she would sing.

I wish you could hear her voice; a soprano as pure and crystal clear as an Ozark spring. Only I could ever see and hear her, though. They all thought I was crazy, so I learned not to speak of her. I enjoyed her company nonetheless. I felt like we understood each other, communicating in a language that crosses time: music.
