I needed a spool of thread for a project and couldn't find one, so I made one in Hexagon. I decided to share the result, since who knows when someone else will need a crappy spool of thread?

This model is setup for use in Poser/DAZ Studio, although it should work in any program which can import .obj files. It has been "rigged", but only because DAZ Studio cannot currently make Poser prop files, but can make Poser figure files. The rigging is not necessary and can simply be ignored.

The needle, thread, and spool are all separate and can be turned off independently if, say, you needed an empty spool, or just a needle, or what have you.

The textures aren't great, so it's probably best for a background prop. The textures are setup in DAZ Studio, so will likely need a bit of tweaking in Poser. The needle is not textured (although it is UV mapped), so you can apply a simple silver shader to it if it doesn't look right. The look of the thread is achieved with a bump map, so you may need to adjust the level of the bump in your program.

You may use this model in commercial or personal renders, as you wish, but you may not redistribute it without my permission. All of this is also covered in the Readme text file included.
